This material can also be used to bond other types of laminate. According to this standard, Prepreg has a defined flammability (vertical combustion test). The degree of flammability on the fully cured prepreg is achieved through the use of non-halogenated flame retardants as an integral part of the polymeric structure. The glass transition temperature is defined as a minimum of 120°C after the prepreg has been cured according to the supplier's instructions.
When assessing the presence of broken filaments, not only their size and frequency of occurrence, but also the flow characteristic of the prepreg should be considered to assess acceptability. Acceptance conditions for broken filaments will be as agreed between the user and the supplier.
The nominal thickness and tolerance of the cured prepreg shall be as agreed between the user and the supplier. The prepreg tested should be glued together and fully cured according to the manufacturer's recommendations. The test method will be as agreed between the user and the supplier.
