EUROLAB, with its state-of-the-art accredited laboratories and expert team, provides precise and fast testing services within the scope of IEC EN 61326-2-3 testing. IEC EN 61326-2-3 specifies more detailed test configurations, operating conditions and performance criteria for converters with integrated or remote signal conditioning.

IEC EN 61326-2-3 Measurement - Electrical Equipment for Control and Laboratory Use - EMC Requirements - Part 2-3: Test Configuration for Transducers with Integrated or Remote Signal Conditioning

This standard applies only to converters characterized by their ability to convert a non-electrical quantity into a process-related electrical signal with the aid of an auxiliary energy source and output the signal in one or more PORTS. This standard includes transducers for electrochemically and biologically measured quantities. Converters covered by this standard can be powered by AC or DC voltage, or by battery or internal power supply.

Transducers referred to in this standard include at least the following items:

  • One or more elements for converting a non-electrical input amount to an electrical amount;
  • a transmission link for transferring an electrical quantity to a component for signal conditioning;
  • A signal conditioning unit that converts the electrical quantity into a process-related electrical signal;
  • A housing for enclosing the aforementioned components completely or in parts.

A system for monitoring the behavior of the EUT and recording the output values shall be designed in such a way that the electromagnetic compatibility characteristics of the EUT are not compromised. The monitoring system will also be designed so that its response is not affected by immunoassays. The input impedance of the monitoring system should correspond to the termination impedance of the converter specified by the manufacturer. The distance between the monitoring system and the EUT must be at least 1,5 m.

The measurement uncertainty and bandwidth of the monitoring system must be adapted to the characteristics of the transducer. Tests should be performed in accordance with the environmental conditions for the converter specified by the manufacturer and using the specified supply voltage.

In the case of battery-operated converters, which can also be used when connected to a power source, both modes of operation (stand-alone and externally supplied) must be tested.

Where the manufacturer's installation instructions require the use of external protective equipment or special protective measures expressly specified in the operating manual, the test requirements given in this part of the standard should be applied for use with external protective equipment.
