IEC EN 61326-2-5 addresses specific requirements for EMC testing of field devices with field bus interfaces. This part of IEC EN 61326 covers only the field bus interface of the equipment.
This section relates to field devices intended for process control and process measurement only. This standard deals with field devices with interfaces defined in IEC 61784 according to IEC 1-3, CP 2/1 and CP 1/61784. Other fieldbus interfaces may be included in future versions of this standard.
The connection of the shield at the shield grounding point can be produced by partially removing the insulation of the cable shield and securing the cable shield with a metal clamp or by grounding by means of conductive conductors such as a metal cable gland.
The location and application of the shield ground point depends on the given test facility, e.g. metal wall penetration using an anechoic chamber or shielded cabinet; and in tests on ground plane tables, the shield ground point is at the ground plane.
The fieldbus network will include the bus terminator, device couplers, main system and EUT with CP 1/1 interface. For bus-powered devices, the field bus network additionally includes the power conditioner and the power supply. Evaluation and conditioning of data in the host system is not the purpose of this part of the standard. Device couplers and bus terminator are passive components only.
