IEC EN 62341-5-2 Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) Displays - Part 5-2: Mechanical Endurance Test Methods

EUROLAB, with its state-of-the-art accredited laboratories and expert team, provides precise and fast testing services within the scope of IEC EN 62341-5-2 testing. IEC EN 62341-5-2 defines test methods for evaluating the mechanical durability quality of organic light-emitting diode (OLED) display panels and modules, or their packaged form for shipping.

IEC EN 62341-5-2 Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) Displays - Part 5-2: Mechanical Endurance Test Methods

Wherever possible, it takes into account the environmental test methods specified in IEC EN 60068 (all parts). The purpose of this standard is to specify the uniformly preferred test methods for evaluating the mechanical durability properties of OLED display devices.

In general, there are two categories of mechanical durability tests: those related to the product use environment and those related to the shipping environment in packaged form. Semi-static strength, four-point bending and peel strength tests for the usage environment are introduced here, while vibration, shock and transport drop tests can be applied for the transport environment.

Mechanical endurance tests can be categorized as mobile applications, notebook or monitor applications, and large-size TV applications. Special considerations or limitations of the test methods are noted with respect to the size or application of the sample.

For the main results in each test, the B10 value should be reported, usually the minimum and average values over the number of samples, or the minimum value, depending on the test purposes. The relevant specification should provide the criteria on which acceptance or rejection of the sample is based.

The maximum amplitude of pseudo-transverse movement at control points in any area perpendicular to the specified axis must not exceed 25%. In the case of large-sized or high-mass samples, the occurrence of pseudo-rotational motion of the vibration table can be significant. If so, the relevant specification should specify a tolerance level.
