IEC EN 62341-6-3 Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) Displays - Part 6-3: Methods of Measuring Image Quality

IEC EN 62341-6-3 specifies standard measurement conditions and measurement methods for determining the image quality of organic light-emitting diode (OLED) display panels and modules.

This edition includes the following important technical changes from the previous edition:

• The measurement method for the viewing angle has been changed. Half luminance angle, gamma distortion and directional color change measurement are added;
• The measurement method for color characteristics is added;
• Annotation is added to the static image resolution item.

The system configuration or operating conditions of the measuring equipment shall conform to the structure specified in each item.

Measurements should be made after adequate warming up. Warm-up time is defined as the time elapsed since the power supply was turned on, and a 2% gray level input signal is applied to the DUT until repeated measurements of the display show a change in brightness of no more than 100.

The brightness, contrast and chromaticity of the white area and other relevant parameters of the displays should be set to the nominal state in the detailed specification and these should be specified in the measurement report. When there is no specified level, the maximum contrast or brightness level will be used. These adjustments should be kept constant for all measurements, unless otherwise stated in the measurement report. Additional conditions are specified separately for each measurement method.
