IEC EN 62433-2 EMC IC Modeling - Part 2: Integrated Circuit Models for EMI Behavior Simulation - Conducted Emission Modeling Testing

IEC EN 62433-2 specifies macro models for Integrated Circuit (IC) to simulate transmitted electromagnetic emissions on a printed circuit board.

The model is commonly referred to as the integrated circuit emission model, conducted emission (ICEM-CE). The ICEM-CE macro model can also be used to model an IC-pattern, a functional block, and an intellectual property (IP) block. The ICEM-CE macro model can be used to model both digital and analog ICs.

Basically, there are two sources of conducted emissions:

• Emissions driven through the power supply terminal and ground reference structures;
• Emissions transmitted through the input/output (I/O) terminals.

The ICEM-CE macro model addresses these two types of resources in a single approach. This standard defines acro-model structures and components for EMI simulation, taking into account the internal activities of the IC.

This part of IEC EN 62433 consists of two main parts:

• The first is the electrical description of the ICEM-CE macro model elements.
• The second part proposes a universal data exchange form called CEM L based on XML. This format allows ICEM-CE to be coded in a more useful and general way for simulation of transmission emissions.
