This part of CISPR 14 specifies electromagnetic immunity requirements in the frequency range 0 Hz to 400 GHz that apply to AC or DC (including a battery) powered appliances, power tools, and similar devices.
This document specifies immunity requirements for both conducted and radiated permanent and transient electromagnetic disturbances. Unless otherwise stated, this document applies to all equipment covered by CISPR 14-1, namely:
Examples of power tools include electric motor powered or electromagnetically operated hand held tools, portable tools, lawn and garden machines.
This document also covers microwave ovens for home use or cooking. Products that include radio transmit/receive functions are within the scope of this document. It is included in the scope of this document. In cases where equipment covered by this document is combined with transmit and/or receive radio functions, the appendices should be checked.
Out of the scope of this document:
Equipment for which all electromagnetic immunity requirements are clearly formulated in other CISPR or IEC standards. Examples are:
AC single-phase equipment with a rated voltage higher than 250 V between phase and neutral and AC multi-phase equipment with a rated voltage higher than 480 V are also outside the scope of this document. Abnormal operation of equipment, such as simulated faults in the electrical circuit, is not taken into account for testing purposes.
CISPR 14-2 Electromagnetic Compatibility - Requirements for Household Appliances, Electrical Appliances and Similar Devices, within the framework of national and international standards, with its trained and expert staff and advanced technological equipment, among numerous test, measurement, analysis and evaluation studies. - Part 2: Immunity - Provides Product Family Standard testing services.
