This standard specifies technical specifications and measurement methods for equipment types:

  • Base Station for Enhanced Universal Terrestrial Radio Access (E-UTRA);
  • Base Station for Enhanced Universal Terrestrial Radio Access (E-UTRA) with NB-IoT;
  • Base Station for standalone NB-IoT.

The technical requirements of this standard apply within the scope of the environmental profile for the operation of the equipment in accordance with its intended use. The equipment shall at all times comply with all technical requirements of the current document while operating within the limits of the operational environmental profile defined by its intended use.

The requirements shall apply regardless of the type of transmitter considered (single-carrier or multi-carrier) and for all transmission modes contemplated in the manufacturer's specification. It will also be valid within any sub-block space for a BS operating in non-contiguous spectrum. Additionally, the requirements for a BS operating in multiple bands will apply within any Inter RF Bandwidth gap.

The requirement for Wide Area BS will apply outside the Base Station RF Bandwidth. It will also be valid within any sub-block space for Wide Area BS operating in non-contiguous spectrum. Also, for a Wide Area BS operating in multiple bands, it is valid within any Inter RF Bandwidth gap.

The requirement for Medium Range BS will apply outside the Base Station RF Bandwidth. It will also be valid within any sub-block space for Medium Range BS operating in non-contiguous spectrum. It is also valid within any Inter RF Bandwidth gap for Medium Range BS operating on multiple bands.
