A procedure to determine contaminant capacity, particulate removal, and differential pressure characteristics, an average filtration rate greater than or equal to 25 and a final filtration rate of less than 75 mg/L for particle sizes less than or equal to 200 µm(c). is a test currently applicable to hydraulic fluid power filter elements exhibiting a reservoir gravimetric level, and is a test method using the ISO medium test dust contaminant and a test fluid.

This standard aims to provide a test procedure that provides repeatable test data for evaluating the filtration performance of a hydraulic fluid power filter element without the influence of electrostatic charge.

This standard applies to three test conditions:

  • conducted with a baseline upstream gravimetric level of 3 mg/L;
  • conducted with a baseline upstream gravimetric level of 10 mg/L;
  • And conducted with a basic upstream gravimetric level of 15 mg/L.
