Test methods are specified for the water jet drive pump with and without inlet channel. This document applies to hydraulic performance testing of waterjet drive under specified test conditions. This standard specifies Class A precision for hydraulic model testing of waterjet propulsion and Class B for acceptance testing of small and medium-sized or medium-sized test models.

In addition, this standard specifies the test conditions of Class A and Class B, and recommendations and requirements for test equipment to ensure that testing can be performed under the relevant accuracy conditions.

This standard does not cover various parts of the waterjet unit such as steering and reversing gear, hydraulic system and control system.

The key parameters of waterjet hydraulic performance tests derived from direct measurement are flow rate, pressure, torque and rotational speed. Derived parameters calculated from the basic parameters are head, shaft power and efficiency. All of these parameters must meet the acceptance criteria set out in this article.

The test must be carried out on the test stand that meets the relevant degree of sensitivity. The test stand may be the manufacturer's test runs or a test stand mutually agreed between the buyer and the manufacturer. The accuracy of the test equipment is determined by the measuring system. Naturally fluctuating flow, inlet and outlet pressure, rotational speed, torque and signals when measured in tests are automatically recorded or statistical records are collected. Readings of transmitted signals must meet steady state.
