Wool, animal hair, silk, cotton, viscose, cupro, modal, lyocell, polyamide, polyester, elastomultiester, elastolefin, melamine, polyacrylate or glass fibers together with acrylic, some modacrylics, some chlorofibres, some elastane fibres.

Acrylic, modacrylic, chlorofiber or elastane are dissolved with dimethylformamide from a known dry mass of the mixture at 90°C to 95°C. The residue is collected, washed, dried and weighed; The mass is expressed as a percentage of the dry mass of the mixture, corrected if necessary, and the percentage of acrylic, modacrylic, chlorofiber or elastane is found by the difference.

The confidence limits of the results obtained by this method on a homogeneous mixture of textile materials are not greater than ± 95 for the 1% confidence level.
