UN 2910 Standard Test for Radioactive Material, Excluded Package, Limited Quantity of Material

EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of the UN 2910 test standard. This subsection sets out the requirements for packaging and transport of class 7 (radioactive) materials by bidders and carriers subject to this subsection.

This subsection does not apply to:

• Class 7 (radioactive) materials produced, used, transported or stored in an establishment other than the transport process, including storage during transport;
• Class 7 (radioactive) materials that have been implanted or incorporated into a human or live animal for diagnosis or therapy and are still contained therein;
• Class 7 (radioactive) material, which is an integral part of transport vehicles;
• Solid non-radioactive articles that contain, on any surface, radioactive substances in quantities not exceeding the threshold limits specified in the definition of contamination in 173.403.

Enclosed means of transport means a transport vehicle or vehicle equipped with a securely attached outer casing that restricts access by unauthorized persons to the cargo area containing class 7 (radioactive) materials.

The enclosure may be temporary or permanent, and in the case of packaged materials it may be of the "inside view" type and should limit access from the top, sides and bottom.
