Straw Caustic Analysis

Straws caustic is an inorganic compound also known as caustic soda or sodium hydroxide. At room temperature, sodium hydroxide is a white, crystalline, odorless solid that absorbs moisture from the air.

Straw Caustic Analysis

This compound is a manufactured substance. When dissolved in water or neutralized with acid, it releases a significant amount of heat that may be sufficient to ignite combustible materials. Sodium hydroxide is very corrosive. It is generally used as a solid or 50 percent solution.

Sodium hydroxide is used in the manufacture of soap, rayon, paper, explosives, dyestuffs, and petroleum products. It is also used in the processing of cotton fabrics, laundry and bleaching, metal cleaning and processing, oxide plating, electroplating and electrolytic extraction. It is commonly found in commercial oven cleaners.

Caustic soda (sodium hydroxide) is a versatile substance used in a variety of manufacturing processes. Sodium hydroxide is a byproduct of chlorine production.

Sodium hydroxide is used to help manufacture a variety of drugs and pharmaceutical products, from common pain relievers such as aspirin to drugs that help prevent blood clots and cholesterol-lowering drugs.

In the energy sector, sodium hydroxide is used in the production of fuel cells. In addition, epoxy resins produced with sodium hydroxide are used in wind turbines. Municipal water treatment plants use sodium hydroxide to control water acidity and help remove heavy metals from water. Sodium hydroxide is also used to produce sodium hypochlorite, a water disinfectant.

In the food industry, sodium hydroxide is used as an ingredient in food preservatives to remove the skins from tomatoes, potatoes, and other fruits and vegetables for canning, as well as to prevent the growth of mold and bacteria in food.

In many papermaking processes, wood is treated with a solution of sodium sulfide and sodium hydroxide. This helps dissolve many of the unwanted materials in the wood, leaving the relatively pure cellulose that forms the basis of the paper. In the paper recycling process, sodium hydroxide is used to separate the ink from the paper fibers and the paper fibers are reused. Sodium hydroxide is also used in refining raw materials for wood products such as cabinets and furniture, and in wood bleaching and cleaning.

Our company also provides caustic analysis services with its trained and expert staff and advanced technological equipment, among the numerous test, measurement, analysis and evaluation studies it provides for businesses in various sectors.
