DIN 68861-1 Chemical Resistance Tests

EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of DIN 68861-1 standard. This standard applies to methods for the chemical stress assessment of furniture surfaces, regardless of the material used, with the exception of surfaces made of leather and textiles, and to information not included in DIN EN 12720 for the hard surfaces of surface-treated furniture.

DIN 68861-1 Chemical Resistance Tests

It also covers experiments with pasty and solid test environments, which often occur during the practical use of furniture.

DIN 68861-1 Furniture Surface Tests

  • Behavior when exposed to chemicals
  • Behavior when exposed to wear
  • Behavior when exposed to scratching
  • Behavior while smoking
  • It consists of their behavior when exposed to dry heat.

Substance behavior when exposed to chemicals is the most applied part of DIN 68861. To simulate the chemical stress of ready-to-use furniture surfaces, up to 26 test substances (such as food, household chemicals, cleaning agents) depending on the stress group are placed on the test surface and left there for a certain period of time. After this period, changes in the surface are evaluated.

Among the services provided by Eurolab within the framework of chemical tests, there are also DIN 68861-1 standard tests.
