OECD 104 Testing of Chemicals - Standard Test Method for Vapor Pressure

EUROLAB, together with its state-of-the-art accredited laboratories and expert team, provides precise and rapid testing services within the scope of OECD 104 testing. This test guide describes eight methods for measuring vapor pressure. Each of them can be applied in different vapor pressure ranges. The vapor pressure of a substance (in Pascal) is defined as the saturation pressure above a solid or liquid substance and is determined at various temperatures (in Kelvin).

Three or more are preferred in the range of 0 to 50°C to control the linearity of the vapor pressure curve. In the case of Effusion methods and Gas saturation method, 0 to 50°C is recommended instead of 120 to 150°C for the measuring temperature range.

The OECD guidelines for testing chemicals are a collection of approximately 150 of the most relevant internationally recognized test methods used by government, industry and independent laboratories to identify and characterize the potential hazards of chemicals. They are a set of tools for professionals used primarily in regulatory safety testing and then in chemical and chemical product declaration, chemical registration and chemical evaluation.
