UN 2912 Radioactive Material, Low Specific Activity (LSA-I), Non-Fissile or Fissile Standard Test Method

In setting the performance standards contained in this regulation, a tiered approach is applied, characterized by three general levels of importance:

• Routine transport conditions (uneventful);
• Normal transport conditions (minor mishaps);
• Accident transport conditions.

This regulation does not specify controls such as routing or physical protection that may be established for reasons other than radiological security. Such controls will take into account radiological and non-radiological hazards and will not reduce the safety standards this Regulation is intended to provide.
