Gas Chromatography Test

Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry or GC / MS analysis is a method used to identify trace and single elements in complex chemical mixtures. Gas chromatography focuses on an element or compound in a substance, rather than giving it a complete elemental distortion.

Gas Chromatography Test

GC / MS is a useful method for materials where a very small amount of the compound being tested is suspected or when an element needs 100% accuracy. Because of its singular elemental focus, gas chromatography is generally considered one of the most accurate analyzes available.

EUROLAB has premium gas chromatography equipment that can perform both liquid injection and thermal desorption methods. Our specialists are highly trained in supporting GC / MS testing and chemical methods, making EUROLAB a preferred laboratory for complex projects that require a high level of accuracy. In addition to being ISO 17025 certified, our GC / MS program is certified by the USA.

GC / MS Techniques

Gas chromatography mass spectrometry is usually performed in one of two ways: by thermal desorption or liquid injection. Thermal desorption begins with a solid sample. The sample is then evaporated and the final gas is analyzed for the presence of the target substance.

With liquid injection, a small sample of aqueous is injected into the GC / MS equipment and the results are analyzed. In both cases, the sample should be discarded after testing. If more than one substance is being investigated, more than one sample should be provided.
