EUROLAB, with its state-of-the-art accredited laboratories and expert team, provides precise and fast testing services within the scope of DIN 54003 testing. Color fastness of textiles is a measurement of how the color tone of textiles appears. Color fastness of textiles may vary according to the light exposure conditions of textiles. For example, a textile of the same hue may appear differently in daylight and may appear differently in nightlight.
Color Fastness can be defined in several ways. First, in the normal use of dyed textiles, a fabric can retain its original dye color under the influence of various external factors. Another definition relates to the resistance of the color of a dyed or printed textile product to fading or flowing under different kinds of influences, including water, light, friction, washing and perspiration.
Color Fastness after exposure to light is measured using a sample of the fabric to be tested. A sample and a string of eight blue wool standards are simultaneously exposed to artificial light in a device equipped with a xenon arc damping lamp, controlling humidity in the device.
