Potash caustic is an alkaline product produced by electrolysis of an aqueous solution of potassium chloride. It is a strong alkali with acute toxicity and corrosiveness. It is classified as a dangerous substance.

Potash caustic is also used in agriculture, for the formulation of fertilizer mixes with potassium uptake, and in the electronics industry for the manufacture of semiconductor chips.
