UN 2913 Standard Test for Radioactive Material, Surface Contaminated Objects (SCO-I or SCO-II)

EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of the UN 2913 test standard. SCO-1 has low radioactivity. The entry includes solid objects of non-radioactive material with a dispersed radioactive material on their surface, and these are:

UN 2913 Standard Test for Radioactive Material, Surface Contaminated Objects (SCO-I or SCO-II)

  • Unstable contamination on the accessible surface, on average over 300 cm2 (or surface area if less than 300 cm2), does not exceed 4 Bq/cm2 or 0,4 Bq for beta and gamma emitters and low toxicity alpha emitters. For all other alpha emitters;
  • Constant contamination on an average of 300 cm2 (or surface area if less than 300 cm2) of accessible surface does not exceed 4X10(4) bq/cm2 or 4x10 for beta and gamma emitters and low toxicity alpha emitters. Bq/cm2 for all alpha emitters; and
  • Non-fixed contamination plus fixed contamination of inaccessible surface, on average over 300cm2 (or less than 300cm2 of surface area), not exceeding 4x10(4) Bq/cm2 for beta and gamma emitters, or 4 x 10(3) Bq/ for all alpha emitters cm2.
