ISO 13982-1 Performance Rules for Chemical Protective Clothing That Protects the Whole Body Against Airborne Solid Particle Chemicals

The ISO 13982-1 standard published by the International Standards Organization (ISO) describes the properties and test methods of chemical protective clothing that protects the entire body against solid airborne solid chemical particles. This standard has also been published in our country by the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) under the following heading: TS EN ISO 13982-1 Protective clothing used against solid particles - Part 1: Performance rules for chemical protective clothing that protects the body against all chemical particles that spread through air ( type 5 clothing).

This standard describes minimum requirements for chemical protective clothing that resists the penetration of airborne solid particles (type 5). These garments will wear full body protectors. In other words, they will wear body, arms and legs, such as one-piece jumpsuits or two-piece suits, with a hood or visor, with or without foot protection. Requirements for component parts such as headgear, gloves, boots, visors or respiratory protective equipment, it is in other international and European standards.

The ISO 13982-1 standard applies only to airborne solid particles. It is beyond the scope of this standard that solid chemical particles pass into other forms of difficulty, for example, chemical powders, which are covered by separate standards by friction or stretching.

The normative references in the implementation of this standard and indispensable for its implementation are the following: TS EN ISO 3758, TS 11610, TS EN ISO 13982-2, TS EN ISO 13688, TS EN 12941 and TS EN 14325.
