By the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), the properties and test methods of protective clothing for liquid permeability are clear.ISO 6529 standard was designed to be established. This standard has been published in our country by the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) with the following title: TS EN ISO 6529 Protective clothing - Protection against chemicals - Determination of the resistance of protective clothing materials to liquid and gas transmission.

It refers to protective clothing, work clothes, helmets, shoes and glasses worn in the workplace. Protective clothing is designed to protect an employee from airborne substances, chemicals, electricity, high temperatures and biological hazards. Its main purpose is to protect health and work related safety.
The reason such protective workwear is important is to ensure safety for the worker and reduce the exposure of workers to hazards when legal precautions and engineering controls cannot reduce risks to acceptable levels. In general, the possible type of danger is effective in classifying protective workwear. A respiratory equipment is to prevent an employee from breathing contaminated air. Respirators are a necessity when there is not enough ventilation in the work environment.
Contaminated surfaces, aerosols, splashes or chemicals cause a variety of skin diseases. Ultraviolet, high temperatures, solar radiation, parasites and microorganisms also damage the skin. For this reason, it is necessary to use protective clothing in the workplace.
The ISO 6529 standard describes test methods for determining the resistance of materials used in protective clothing, including gloves and shoes, to the penetration of liquid or gaseous chemicals under continuous or intermittent contact conditions. These test methods evaluate protective clothing in terms of permeability, break time, permeability rate and cumulative permeability and are only suitable for measuring the passage of liquids and gases.
