Spunbond Fabric Tests - Hydrostatic Pressure Test

Spunbond fabrics, ie spunbonded webs, have a wide range of product properties, from very light and flexible structures to heavy and rigid structures. In general, the properties of these fabrics can be listed as follows:

Spunbond Fabric Tests - Hydrostatic Pressure Test

  • They have random fibrous structures
  • Usually the color of the mesh is white and has high opacity per unit area
  • Most spunbond webs are layered, the higher the basis weight, the higher the number of layers.
  • Basic weights are between 5-800 g / m2, typically 10-200 g / m2
  • Fiber diameters range from 1 to 50 µm, but the preferred range is from 15 to 35 µm.
  • Mesh thicknesses range from 0,1-4,0 mm, typically 0,2-1,5 mm
  • High strength / weight ratios compared to other nonwoven, woven and knitted structures
  • Shows high tear strength for area bonded webs
  • Because the fibers are randomly arranged, they show planar isotropic properties.
  • It has good abrasion and creasing resistance
  • It has high liquid holding capacity due to its high void content
  • It shows high in-plane shear resistance and low ductility.

Hydrostatic pressure refers to the pressure a liquid exerts on the surrounding wall surfaces. In the textile industry, hydrostatic pressure test methods are used to determine the waterproofness of fabrics. The ISO 811 standard, published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), offers a hydrostatic pressure test method for determining the resistance of fabrics to water ingress. With this test method, it is applied to all types of fabrics that are intended to be water resistant, whether or not a water resistant or water repellent finishing process has been applied. This standard replaces the annulled and European standard EN 20811. In our country, this standard has been published by the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) with the following title: TS EN ISO 811 Textile - Determination of resistance to water penetration - Hydrostatic pressure test.

The hydrostatic pressure test method described in the ISO 811 standard can also be used to determine the waterproofness of spunbond fabrics like all textile products.Taste.

AATCC 127 Water resistance - Hydrostatic pressure test standard, developed by the American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists (AATCC), which provides a hydrostatic pressure test method that determines the water resistance properties of fabrics, is also considered.

Our organization provides hydrostatic pressure test services within the scope of spunbond fabric testing services to healthcare organizations and manufacturing companies that request it, within the framework of national and international standards, with a trained and expert staff and advanced technological equipment, among numerous testing, measurement, analysis and evaluation studies.
