This European standard specifies general requirements and test methods for harmlessness, ergonomics, restraint, zone of protection, impact performance, as well as manufacturer-supplied marking provisions and information for protective equipment used in martial arts.
The protectors covered by this European standard are primarily designed for use in unarmed martial arts such as taekwondo, karate, kick-boxing and similar disciplines.
Additional requirements and test methods for the components of preservatives for certain types of martial arts are specified in other parts of this European standard.
