Two performance levels have been set for motorcycle riders' limb guards - level 1 and level 2. The lower the force transmitted by a guard, the more protective the product is considered.

To pass the standard, the average maximum transmitted force must be less than 35kN and not a single value above 50kN. The standard includes optional impact tests to evaluate performance in high (+40°C) and low (-10°C) temperature environments.
