EN 943-2 Chemical Protective Clothing - Part 2: Performance Requirements for Type 1 (Gas Tight) Chemical Protective Clothing for Emergency Teams (ET)

EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of EN 943-2 standard. This part of the EN 943 standard specifies the minimum requirements, test methods, marking and information provided by the manufacturer for vented and non-ventilated gas-tight chemical protective clothing used by emergency teams (ET).

Specifies full body personal protective suits to be worn for protection against solid, liquid and gaseous chemicals, including liquid and solid aerosols. Chemicals such as severe air sensitive reagents, labile explosives and cryogenic liquids are not considered as protection against these additional hazards is beyond the scope of this standard.

This document does not set minimum criteria for protection against non-chemical hazards, eg radiological, fire, heat and explosive hazards and infectious agents. This type of equipment is not designed for complete immersion in liquids.

Seams, joints and assemblies connecting accessories are covered by this standard. Performance criteria for accessories, gloves, boots or respiratory protective equipment are given in other standards. Particle protection is limited to only the physical penetration of particles.

Gas-tight chemical protective clothing Type 1a-ET and Type 1b-ET will fulfill the requirements of EN 943-1:2015+A1:2019, except for the minimum permeability of chemicals, which must be as specified in this standard. Additional or restrictive requirements of this European Standard must be met.
