These garments are full body protective garments, i.e. garments with or without a hood, with or without foot protection, such as one-piece overalls or two-piece suits that cover the torso, arms and legs.
Requirements for component parts such as helmets, gloves, boots, visors or respiratory protective equipment may be specified in other international and European standards.
EN ISO 13982-1 is only applicable to solid particles in the air. This does not apply to other types of solid chemicals, such as the penetration of chemical powder into materials by friction or stretching, which may be the subject of separate standards.
