EN ISO 15384 Protective Clothing for Firefighters - Laboratory Test Methods and Performance Requirements for Wildland Fire Fighting Clothing

The EN ISO 15384 standard, developed by the International Standards Organization (ISO), specifies test methods and minimum performance requirements for protective clothing to be worn in wildland firefighting and related activities. This garment is not designed to provide protection during fire traps.

EN ISO 15384 Protective Clothing for Firefighters - Laboratory Test Methods and Performance Requirements for Wildland Fire Fighting Clothing

This International Standard applies to the overall design of the garment, the minimum performance level for the materials used, and the test methods to determine these levels. This International Standard does not apply to clothing for use in risk situations where clothing conforming to ISO 11613 or ISO 15538 is more appropriate, and this International Standard does not cover clothing for protection against chemical, biological, electrical or radiation hazards.

This International Standard does not apply to the protection of the head (may cover the neck), eyes, hands, feet and respiratory system. These issues can be addressed in other International Standards. This document does not protect against high mechanical risks, such as protection when using a saw.

Wildland firefighters working in open areas need appropriate clothing to fight wildfires. The most important features required in these cases are ergonomic design and easy-to-clean comfortable fabric. Wildland Fire Suits must be well designed and able to meet all needs in harsh environments.

By nature, flame retardant fabrics not only provide excellent heat resistance, but can also provide spike resistance. Fabrics have high tear strength, so they perform well against sharp materials. This prevents firefighters from being injured by the thorns, so they don't have to worry about walking on the grass and brushing it on duty.

Among the services provided by our organization within the framework of material testing services, there are also EN ISO 15384 standard tests. Do not hesitate to contact EUROLAB laboratory for your test and certification requests.
