EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of EN ISO 6530 standard. The International Standard EN ISO 6530 specifies a test method for the measurement of penetration, absorption and repellency indices of protective clothing materials against liquid chemicals, especially chemicals with low volatility.
Two levels of potential performance of materials are evaluated by this test method to meet possible requirements for protection against:
This International Standard specifies a test method for measuring the penetration, absorption, and repellency indices of liquid chemicals, generally low-volatility chemicals, against low-volume, low-pressure splashes for protective clothing materials.
ISO 13994 can be used to determine the penetration resistance of protective clothing materials to chemicals against larger volume and higher pressure splashes.
Garments made from these materials are used where resistance to the penetration of chemicals at the molecular level is required and a complete barrier to liquid (or gaseous) chemicals is required (e.g. exposure to intense and powerful discharges of concentrated liquid chemicals).
The data obtained with this test method can be used as a guide for screening protective clothing materials. Therefore, garments developed from materials selected by this test method should only be used under well-defined conditions, when the evaluation of the finished product shows an acceptable level of performance (in laboratory and field testing of a garment), taking into account exposure levels to certain chemicals, etc.).
When interpreting the results of the test method, the effects of the physical properties (eg volatility) of the test chemical should also be taken into account.
Among the services provided by our organization within the framework of material testing services, there are also EN ISO 6530 standard tests. Do not hesitate to contact our laboratory EUROLAB for your testing and certification requests.
