This standard will apply to the design, manufacture and certification of new flameproof garments, covers, headgear, fleeces and gloves, as well as to the design and manufacture of new fabric face coverings.
This standard shall provide minimum requirements for the design, construction, evaluation and certification of flame resistant clothing, covers, headgear, fleeces and gloves, and fabric face coverings for use by industrial personnel so as not to contribute to combustion.
The requirements of this standard do not apply to flame-retardant clothing, covers, headgear, fleece or accessories that may be attached to gloves or cloth face coverings, unless specifically stated herein.
