TS EN 1073-1 Protective Clothing Against Airborne Solid Particles, Including Radioactive Contamination

The EN 1073-1 standard, which describes the specifications and test methods of clothing to protect against airborne solid particles, including radioactive contamination, is essentially a European standard. This standard provides the requirements and test methods for protective clothing that is ventilated by an air supply independent of an uncontaminated source and protects the person's body and respiratory system against any solid particles in the air, including radioactive contamination.

Such protective clothing can be provided with an emergency respiratory system. This standard does not cover the protection of individuals against ionizing radiation and the protection of patients from contamination by radioactive substances through diagnostic and some measures. If additional protection is required against chemicals, it is necessary to refer to the relevant standard and the CEN / TR 15419 standard. The CEN / TR 15419 standard regulates the principles for the selection, use, care and supply of clothing that protects against chemicals.

Radioactive contamination or contamination occurs mainly due to the uncontrolled spread of any radioactive material in a particular area. In general, this is due to the radioactive substance not being controlled properly. If care is not taken about the spread of radioactive materials, there are negative consequences for human health and the environment. Protective clothing is very effective in preventing radioactive contamination.

The standard in question has been published in our country by the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) under the following heading: TS EN 1073-1 Protective clothing against airborne solid particles, including radioactive contamination - Part 1: Protective clothing that protects the body and respiratory tract, ventilated compressed air line requirements and test methods.

Within the scope of protective clothing tests, our organization also provides protective clothing testing services against airborne solid particles including TS EN 1073-1 Radioactive contamination.
