TS EN 510 Protective Clothing Used In Places Where There Is A Risk Of Wrapping The Moving Parts

The EN 510 standard, a European standard, defines the requirements that minimize the risk of workers moving in when working on or near hazardous moving machines. This standard describes protective clothing specifications for areas at risk of getting tangled in moving parts.

If workers are working with or near a machine or equipment with dangerous movements, the risk of textile pieces getting caught in moving parts is very high. This standard determines the characteristics of protective clothing that will minimize this risk. Certain features of this type of clothing include: no pockets accessible from the outside, no stitched folds, closed zippers, and the garment fitting the body.

Essentially, the EN 510 standard is a standard that complements the general requirements in the EN ISO 13688 standard (TS EN ISO 13688 Protective clothing - General characteristics). However, it does not cover the protective clothing used against injuries caused by special moving machine parts with certain standards. For example, TS EN ISO 11393 does not cover protective clothing designed for chainsaws covered by the standard of protective clothing for hand chain saws.

Competition in the world economy has pushed employees into a more intense and risky working environment. These risks increased even more as machines became more complex. Therefore, occupational health and safety has become more and more important and new standards are needed.

The standard in question has been published in our country by the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) with the following heading: TS EN 510 Protective clothing - Properties of protective clothing used in places where there is a risk of getting entangled in moving parts.

Within the scope of protective clothing tests, TS EN 510 provides protective clothing testing services used by our organization in places where there is a risk of entanglement in moving parts.
