TS EN 455-2 Disposable Medical Gloves - Physical Properties

The EN 455-2 standard, which describes the requirements and test methods for the physical properties of disposable medical gloves, is actually a European standard. This standard is designed for disposable medical gloves and describes the physical properties and testing methods of medical gloves to prevent cross contamination.

The EN 455 standard set is a series of standards, consisting of the following four sections, under the general heading of disposable medical gloves. This series of standards has been published in our country by the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) with the following titles:

• TS EN 455-1 Part 1: Properties and no hole test
• TS EN 455-2 Part 2: Rules and experiments for physical properties
• TS EN 455-3 Part 3: Properties and experiments for biological evaluation
• TS EN 455-4 Part 4: Rules and experiments for determining shelf life

This part of the EN 455 standard is for companies that produce disposable medical gloves, suppliers and stockists of disposable medical gloves, and users of these products.

The EN 455-2 standard covers the physical properties of disposable medical gloves such as surgical gloves and examination gloves. The recommendations are intended to provide adequate protection from cross contamination for both workers and patients during use of gloves.

EN 455-2 does not specify the size of a lot. It only draws attention to the difficulties associated with the distribution of very large parties. The maximum lot size that can be reached in production is 500 thousand.

Disposable medical gloves are used by medical personnel to protect against the risk of contamination, to prevent the release of pathogens from the hand sterile workplace, to protect from chemicals and biological agents.
