TS EN ISO 374-4 Protective Gloves Against Hazardous Chemicals and Micro Organisms - Resistance of Chemicals Against Degradation

The EN ISO 374-4 standard, which describes the determination of the resistance of chemicals related to protective gloves against hazardous chemicals and microorganisms to degradation, is a European standard on its basis and has been re-published by the International Standards Organization (ISO). A mandatory requirement for deterioration testing of chemical resistant gloves lies in the EN 374-1 standard.

TS EN ISO 374-4 Protective Gloves Against Hazardous Chemicals and Micro Organisms - Resistance of Chemicals Against Degradation

Tests are carried out according to EN 16523-1 standard to determine whether a glove material is resistant to penetration of chemicals. The performance levels achieved determine the type of chemical protective gloves defined by the EN ISO 374-1 standard. However, if a glove material reaches a high level of performance for permeability resistance, the effect of deterioration from chemical substances must also be taken into account.

Degradation is when there is a harmful change in some properties of a material in contact with a chemical. For example, as a result of degradation, flaking, swelling, crushing, brittleness, discoloration, appearance change, hardening or softening are observed in the material. Theoretically, although the material shows excellent resistance to chemical permeability, it can perform poorly in real life conditions and degrade the chemical. Degradation is not evaluated against performance requirements as part of any permeability testing procedure. However, observations about the appearance of the material are reported after the test.

The standard in question has been published in our country by the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) with the following heading: TS EN ISO 374-4 Protective gloves against hazardous chemicals and microorganisms - Part 4: Determination of the chemical's resistance to degradation.

Within the scope of protective clothing tests, our institution also provides TS EN ISO 374-4 chemical degradation resistance test services related to protective gloves against dangerous chemicals and microorganisms.
