EN 1991-1-5 Eurocode 1: Actions on Structures, Part 1-5: General Actions, Standard Test for Thermal Actions

EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of EN 1991-1-5 standard. EN 1991-1-5 gives principles and rules for the calculation of thermal effects on buildings, bridges and other structures, including structural members. Necessary principles for cladding and other additions of buildings are also given.

This Section describes changes in temperature of structural members. Characteristic values ​​of thermal actions are presented to be used in the design of structures exposed to daily and seasonal climatic changes. Structures that are not so exposed may not need to be considered for thermal actions.

Structures where thermal actions are primarily a function of their use (eg cooling towers, silos, tanks, hot and cold storage facilities, hot and cold services, etc.) are discussed in chapter 7. Chimneys are machined in EN 13084-1.
