AATCC TM130 Test Standard for Oily Stain Release Method

The AATCC TM130 is designed to measure the ability of fabrics to remove greasy stains during home washing.

AATCC TM130 Test Standard for Oily Stain Release Method

This test method is primarily for use by fabric finishers to evaluate the possible performance of soil release finishes in actual use. If this test method is used as part of a contract between the buyer and seller, or in any case interlaboratory comparisons are made, the parties must agree to use the same ballast and detergent. In arbitration cases or where standard specifications are involved, 1993 AATCC standard reference detergent should be used.

This test is not precluded from being used on clothing.

A smear is applied to a test sample. A certain amount of dyestuff is forced into the fabric using a certain weight. The stained fabric is then washed as directed, and the remaining stain is graded on a scale of 5 to 1, compared to a stain release replica showing a graded series of stains.
