Test specimens cut from profile lengths are subjected to the impact of a falling mass from a known height above the surface at a point midway between two internal webs at a constant temperature. After testing, the profiles are visually inspected for defects in the tested surface.

The main purpose of the standard is to establish a method to evaluate how well PVC-U profiles withstand impacts caused by falling masses.
