ANSI AMCA 500-L-12 Laboratory Methods for Testing Louvers for Rating

Tests conducted in accordance with the requirements of this standard are intended to demonstrate the performance of a roller shutter and are not intended to determine the acceptability performance level. Specifying actual test sequences is not within the scope of this standard, nor is it within the scope of this standard to specify minimum or maximum criteria for testing.

Parties to a test for warranty purposes may agree in writing to exceptions to this standard prior to testing. However, only a test that does not violate any mandatory requirement of this standard shall be designated as a test conducted according to this standard.

The purpose of this standard is to establish uniform laboratory test methods for roller shutters. Features to be determined include air leakage, pressure drop, water penetration, wind-driven rain, wind-driven sand, and operational torque.

It is not the purpose of this standard to set minimum or maximum performance ratings.
