This standard covers the detection of major leaks in packaging. The method precision is as low as 81 μm (250 inch) with 0,010% probability. It can be used for standard tray and sachet packs. The sensitivity of this standard has not been evaluated for use with porous materials or non-porous packaging other than spunbond polyolefin.
This standard is disruptive as it requires entering the package to provide internal air pressure.
