Liquid, Epoxy Coatings and Primers for AWWA C210 Steel Water Pipes and Fittings

Conditions not described in this standard. The coating systems described in this standard are not designed for use on pipes that will be bent after the coating or priming system has been applied.

Coating and lining systems may consist of any of the following three types:

• One or more coats of a two part chemically cured epoxy primer and a different two part chemically cured epoxy topcoat;
• Two or more coats of the same two-part chemically cured epoxy, in which case the first coat will be considered a primer coat;
• One coat of two part chemically cured epoxy.

The purpose of this standard is to provide minimum requirements for liquid epoxy coatings and linings for steel water pipe and fittings, including material, application, inspection, testing, performance requirements, packaging and storage requirements.
