DIN 17175 Standard Test for Seamless Pipes from Heat Resistant Steels

EUROLAB, with its state-of-the-art accredited laboratories and expert team, provides precise and fast testing services within the scope of DIN 17175 testing. This standard applies to seamless pipes, including pipes for heat-resistant steel caps used in the construction of boilers, pipelines, pressure vessels and equipment serving up to 600°C.

At high pressures at the same time, the total stress and associated scaling conditions can raise or lower the temperature limit.

Steels with good mechanical properties even under prolonged stress at elevated temperatures up to 600°C are to be considered high temperature heat resistant for the purposes of this standard. Tubes shall be supplied suitably heat treated along their entire length.

Depending on the type of steel the following heat treatment will be used:

  • Normalization;
  • Subcritical annealing;
  • Hardening and tempering by continuous cooling from the hardening temperature followed by annealing;
  • Hardening and tempering by isothermal transformation.
