The resistance of a coated sample to loss of adhesion is tested with a defined pressure water jet. In addition to stickiness, the extent of damage to the sample is mainly dependent on the distance between the nozzle and the sample, the volume flow, the test time, the geometry of the nozzle, the impact surface, the impact angle, and the impact angle.
Vibration of the pressurized water jet is not allowed at the pump outlet. To obtain a reproducible result, the jet nozzle must be mechanically clamped and the sample secured against displacement.
The test results are determined on the same test material by the same test device in the same laboratory in a short time according to the standard test procedure. According to this standard, the repetition limit r is 1 KW and a specified probability is 95%.
