EN 10346 Technical Delivery Conditions for Continuous Hot-Dip Coated Steel Flat Products for Cold Forming

EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of EN 10346 standard. EN 10346 standard, of low carbon steels for cold forming, construction steels and high strength steels for cold forming with continuous hot dip coating coated with zinc (Z), zinc-iron alloy (ZF)
Specifies requirements for products.

EN 10346 Technical Delivery Conditions for Continuous Hot-Dip Coated Steel Flat Products for Cold Forming

Zinc-aluminum alloy (ZA), aluminum-zinc alloy (AZ), aluminum-silicon alloy
(AS) or for products with continuous hot dip coating made of zinc-magnesium alloy (ZM) and multiphase steels for cold forming with zinc (Z), zinc-iron alloy (ZF), zinc-aluminum alloy (ZA) or 0,20 Applies to zinc-magnesium alloy (ZM) with thicknesses of mm t < 3,0 mm.

By agreement at the time of inquiry and ordering, this European Standard has agreed-upon mechanical properties and test specimens with an extended validity range defined for thicknesses t < 0,20 mm or thicknesses t < 3,0 mm or thicknesses t t 6,5 mm, coating adhesion and surface condition requirements are constantly It can be applied to flat products with hot dip coating.

Thickness is the final thickness of the delivered product after coating. This standard applies to strips of all widths and boards cut from it (600 mm wide) and cut lengths (600 mm wide).

Products coated with (pure) aluminum may also be available, but are not covered by this European standard. The products covered by this standard are used where cold formability, high strength, a defined minimum yield strength and/or corrosion resistance are the most important factors. The corrosion resistance of the product is proportional to the coating thickness, hence its mass. The products covered by this European Standard can be used as substrates for organic coated flat products specified in EN 10169 for building and general engineering applications.

The steels covered by this document are alloyed quality steels or non-alloyed quality steels according to EN 10020. Steel grades are classified according to their increasing suitability for cold forming as follows:

  • DX51D: bending and profiling quality
  • DX52D: drawing quality
  • DX53D: deep drawing quality
  • DX54D: special deep drawing quality
  • DX55D: special deep drawing grade (+AS only)
  • DX56D: extra deep drawing quality
  • DX57D: super deep drawing quality
