EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of EN 1103 standard. This European standard specifies a procedure for determining the burning behavior of textiles for clothing, excluding protective clothing, before and after cleaning when tested using the surface flammability test in EN ISO 6941.
If testing will not be performed immediately after conditioning, individual samples and filter papers should be placed in sealed containers until the start of testing. Each sample shall be tested within 3 minutes after removal from the conditioning chamber or sealed container.
Only the outer surface of the fabric worn in the garment form will be tested. If the outer surface cannot be identified, it is only subjected to the surface test of the surface gloss indicated by the preliminary test. If there is no surface shine on either surface, the surface with a higher flame spread should be tested.
Test samples for garments may consist of one or more layers of material depending on the nature of the garment. In this case, the combination of worn material will be tested.
If the first or first and third signal threads are not broken, the afterflame time in seconds should be noted for each sample.
