The test can be performed on the top or bottom face of the sheet at a predetermined temperature or at successive different temperature steps to determine the cold bending temperature, which represents a limiting temperature. Therefore, the test can be used to confirm the minimum cold bending temperature for a product or to determine the specific cold bending temperature for the product, for example to determine the change in these properties as a result of artificial aging.
For slabs with the same bituminous composition on both sides and where the reinforcement is placed in the cross section visually closer to the upper surface, the test is carried out only on the lower face.
If the top surface is covered with non-woven (eg tissue, fleece, etc.) or metal coating, the test is only performed on the underside.
If the sheet metal on the upper surface is covered with permanent light surface protection and the reinforcement is placed visually closer to the upper surface in section, the test is only performed on the lower side.
