EN 13859-1 Flexible Sheets for Waterproofing - Definitions and Properties of Subcovers - Part 1: Covers for Discontinuous Roofs

EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of EN 13859-1 standard. This part of the EN 13859 standard specifies the characteristics of flexible sheets for underlayment to be used under the roof covering of discontinuous roofs. It specifies the requirements and test methods and enables the evaluation of the conformity of the products with the requirements of this document.

The arithmetic mean value calculated from a series of test results must be within the tolerance declared for the characteristic. Unless otherwise stated in this document, 95% of individual results will be within the declared tolerance. When tested for purposes other than initial type testing or factory production control, the product specification tests specified in this document must be initiated within 1 month from the date of delivery from the manufacturer.

All performances related to the properties contained in this standard shall be determined when the manufacturer wishes to declare the relevant performances, unless the standard makes provisions to declare them without testing. (e.g. use of pre-existing data, CWFT and traditionally accepted performance)

Evaluation previously made according to the provisions of this standard may be considered, provided that it has been carried out according to the same or a more rigorous test method under the same AVCP system on the same product or products of similar design, construction and functionality. The same AVCP system means testing by an independent third party under the responsibility of a notified product certification body.

For evaluation purposes, manufacturer's products may be grouped into families, given that results for one or more attributes from any product within the family are considered to represent the same attributes for all products within the same family. Products can be grouped into different families for different features. Reference should be made to the evaluation method standards to allow selection of an appropriate representative sample.

In addition, the product type should be determined for all the features included in the standard in which the manufacturer declares its performance.

At the beginning of the production of new or modified underlays for discontinuous roofs (unless it is a member of the same product line), or at the beginning of a new or modified production method (where this may affect the specified properties), or at the supplier or production method of the underlays, raw material or components for discontinuous roof design (a subject to family definition) will be repeated for the appropriate trait(s) when a change occurs. ) will significantly affect one or more properties.
