EN 12195-2 Load Limiting Devices in Road Vehicles - Safety - Part 2: Netting Made of Artificial Fibers

This part of standard 12195 specifies safety requirements for net tying made from man-made fibers with plain woven weaves for multiple use and for lashing combinations with woven fabrics for the safe surface transport of goods used in road vehicles, eg trucks and trailers.

Located on highways or on ships or wagons and/or combinations thereof; Specifies network bonding test methods for securing loads. This European Standard has been prepared as a harmonized standard to ensure conformity of safety.

The general hazards caused by the load or its parts are indicated when the body lashings are used incorrectly or any load securing devices are not used. The hazards described below relate to persons who may be directly endangered when handling net bindings, i.e. when tensioning and unloading:

Danger of loads tipping or slipping due to faulty equipment, loss of balance or falling during application and tensioning, sudden breakage of the tensioning device or failure of the hand causing sudden loss of reaction force.
Sharp edges due to pinching and shear injuries, hand and arm injuries during manipulation of tensioning devices.
Hazards to unloading personnel of loads that may fall on personnel, especially when the side panels are opened, caused by the loads not being adequately secured during transport, moving or tipping due to malfunctions such as kickback or breakage.
