This standard is designed for the characterization of bituminous sheets manufactured or supplied prior to use. The test method relates only to products or, where appropriate, their components and not to waterproof membrane systems consisting of such products and installed in workplaces.
This test is designed to be used in conjunction with standards for product properties on reinforced and non-reinforced bitumen sheets for roof waterproofing.
A test specimen is stretched at a constant rate of elongation until it breaks. The tensile force and the corresponding change in the length of the specimen are recorded continuously throughout the test.
