Based on the product dimensions of the tissue paper or tissue paper product provided for the intended use determined by a particular test method, the mass of a certain settled or predefined area is calculated.
When cutting samples to size for the preparation of test pieces, the test sheet or stack of overlapped test sheets should be placed between two sheets of supporting paper or cardboard with the optional composition and having a gram weight exceeding 40 g/m2. Obtain test pieces with clean cut edges and specified dimensions.
If the correct number of plies is unknown and cannot be determined from the finished product, ensure that all plies are of the same weight and type, then determine the weight of a test piece of ten single ply.
