EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of EN 12667 standard. This standard specifies the principles and test procedures for determining the thermal resistance of test specimens with a thermal resistance of not less than 0,5 m² K/W by shielded hot plate or heat flow meter methods.

The above limit is due to the influence of contact thermal resistances. An upper limit for measurable thermal resistance depends on a number of factors described in this standard, but no unique number can be assigned.

It applies in principle to any average test temperature, but the equipment design in Annex D is primarily intended to operate between a minimum refrigeration unit temperature of -100 °C.

The limits of the average test temperature are determined only by the materials and auxiliary equipment used in the construction of the apparatus.

Provides additional limits for equipment performance and test conditions. It does not provide for general equipment design procedures, equipment failure analysis, equipment performance control, or evaluation of equipment accuracy.

This standard does not provide general guidance and background information (eg heat transfer property to report, product dependent sample preparation, procedures requiring multiple measurements). Because of these limitations, this standard should be used in conjunction with the product standard for the product to be tested.

Although primarily designed for building materials, it can also be used for any material sample that complies with the specified requirements.

This standard does not cover measurements on moist products with any thermal resistance or measurements on thick products with high and medium thermal resistance.
